New 2017 Isuzu D-Max pick-up: Prices revealed

Updated Isuzu workhorse with cleaner 1.9-litre engine and new on-board tech priced from £15,749.

Izusu D-max facelift

A facelifted Isuzu D-Max pick-up truck is on the way. The new Isuzu workhorse will go on sale this spring, priced from £15,749.

Under the bonnet the new D-Max gets an all-new 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine, producing 162bhp and 360Nm of torque. The torque figure is down a little compared to the old 2.5-litre unit, but it retains its 3.5 tonne towing capacity and one tonne payload. Isuzu says the new engine is quieter, making for a more refined driving experience. Importantly, it's compliant with Euro 6 emission standards, and should deliver better fuel economy alongside lower exhaust emissions.

In terms of looks the updated D-Max will gets a new grille, bumper, bonnet and tailgate design, plus LED daytime running lights. Inside, it will get a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, roof-mounted loudspeakers and various trim updates to keep it competitive.

Prices for the new pick-up kick off at £15,749 for the entry level D-Max Utility. Standard equipment includes LED daytime running lights, hill start assist, hill descent assist, Bluetooth connectivity and air-conditioning.

Two models are priced from £20,499. The D-Max Eiger adds a reversing camera, 16-inch alloy wheels, body coloured bumpers and a hi-fi setup with six speakers and a CD player. Alternatively, the Yukon model gets stylish additions with 18-inch wheels, silver side steps, a leather steering wheel and LED rear lights. Tech highlights include the 7-inch multi-function touchscreen and cruise control.

The £24,149 Utah model adds Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and sat nav to the infotainment screen, as well as a leather upholstery with heated seats, rear parking sensors and automatic air conditioning. The range topping D-Max Blade comes in from £26,999, with features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment setup, a remote locking rear tailgate, front and rear parking sensors plus extra styling tweaks. All D-Max come with a five year/125,000 mile warranty.
