Audi A6 range refreshed for 2024 alongside S6 TDI
The simplified Audi A6 saloon and Avant ranges will start from £43,965
The Audi A6 saloon and Avant have been refreshed for 2024, introducing a combination of subtly updated styling elements and a simplified range. Orders will open on June 20, with the high specification S6 TDI featuring its own changes.
The range will now be split into three models, Sport, S-Line and Black Edition, all kicking off with a higher basic specification that now includes Matrix LED headlights, electric seats and Audi’s full smartphone integration that includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Each of the new trim levels feature a selection of styling updates, joined by an expanded colour palette and updates to the interior. The A6’s technical elements, however, will remain as is, made up from a pair of turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engines, a four-cylinder turbo diesel and a plug-in hybrid. All powertrains except the entry-level petrol features Quattro all-wheel drive, and all engines are connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The S6 TDI will offer the sole six-cylinder powertrain, itself combining Audi’s potent 345bhp turbocharged V6 diesel with a mild-hybrid system that also leverages an electrically-driven supercharger to bolster the torque figure at low rpm. This is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and the usual Quattro all-wheel drive system.
Design changes align with the A6, with a notable absence of the previous car’s quad exhaust garnish that have been removed from the rear bumper altogether. These were the point of some contention, as the previous round pipes that are generally typical of Audi’s S models were completely fake, with the two actual exhaust pipes tucked away under the rear valance.
Audi will offer two S6 TDI specifications: Black Edition and Vosprung, the latter including high-end inclusions like 21-inch wheels, air-suspension and rear-wheel steering.
All A6 models will be available with the option of two Technology Packs, one base at £2,995 and the £5,995 Pro package. These add in goodies like a Bang and Olufsen sound system, 360-degree cameras and a heads-up display. The Technology Pro package ups this further with a panoramic roof, 4-zone climate control and rear heated seats. The Pro pack can also be optioned on S6 models for £2,995, with the standard Tech pack being included as standard.
Prices will start at £43,965 for the entry-level 45 TFSI Sport saloon, with prices rising right the way up to around £85,000 for the S6 TDI Avant. Orders will commence from June 20, with deliveries following later in the summer.
